After installing

Just follow the onboarding guide

The first time Fushi starts it opens the onboarding guide: it asks which features you want, then sets up the recommended dictionary pack, Anki, backup sync and reading fonts step by step. Closed it and want to run it again? Go to Settings → System → Onboarding.

StepWhat it does

Recommended pack: no dictionary hunting

The pack contains Japanese vocabulary, pitch-accent and frequency dictionaries plus local Japanese / English pronunciation audio, about 9.5 GB. Download and import it right from the “Install recommended pack” step of the guide.

You'll be asked where to save it, then the 39 parts download in order and each is SHA-256 checked. Keep this page open — the web download cannot resume; use the app's onboarding if you need that.

If you fetch the parts with a download manager, join them in order afterwards: Windows copy /b name.000+name.001+… pack.zip, macOS / Linux cat name.* > pack.zip.

Choose “Merge” when importing

The pack goes through the backup-import flow. In the confirmation dialog, “Merge into existing library” only adds the dictionaries and audio and leaves your existing data untouched; “Overwrite whole library” replaces the entire library with the pack.

Learning another language? Skip this step and import any Yomitan / MDX (MDict) / DSL dictionary through dictionary management. The languages you can look up depend on the dictionaries you import.
